Jack Kneeland

Jack Kneeland is a partner in Vector Energy Advisory a strategy consulting and financial advisory firm that combines expertise in energy and ASEAN markets with functional corporate and investment skills to help companies and investors identify opportunities and grow their businesses. Prior to starting Vector, Jack spent 20 years in Southeast Asia working with investment banks, consulting firms and in private equity where he has focussed on investment decision-making in the energy and clean energy sectors. He has originated and delivered dozens of consulting assignment in the region. Jack is also a senior advisor with The Lantau Group with whom he has worked for several years.
Jack previously developed and led the Gas, Power and Renewable Energy and New Energy consulting practices at AWR Lloyd where he provided strategic consulting and financial advisory services to Asian and international firms in fields ranging from natural gas to conventional power, renewable energy and energy storage. This included major strategy development, identification of new opportunities, investment analysis and recommendations and support for two power sector IPOs. Earlier in his career Jack worked for several large investment banks including Phatra Securities/Merrill Lynch and UBS where he covered energy and transportation sectors and served as the Head of Thai Equity Research.
Jack is also a Co-chair of Grid Asia Bangkok, a regional networking and knowledge platform for energy sector participants. He has a Masters degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced international Studies (SAIS) in Energy and International Finance. He is a Permanent Resident of Thailand and can speak and read Thai.

Thomas Jakobsen
Managing Director of Indochina Energy Partners
 
Thomas Jakobsen has 15 years of experience in Indochina, focused on renewable energy. He is the Managing Director of Indochina Energy Partners, specializing in direct investments and advisory services in the renewable energy sector.
Indochina Energy Partners is building a 120 MWp portfolio of roof top solar installations in ASEAN and is also negotiating several large scale DPPA’s in wind and solar.
From 2009 to 2013, Mr. Jakobsen was Investment Director of Anpha Capital, originating and analyzing potential investments in Renewable Energy, Real Estate and Infrastructure projects; advising the potential investment companies/projects on Financial Structuring and Corporate Finance and performing due diligence on potential investments.
Mr. Jakobsen holds a M.Sc. in Economics and Business Administration from University of Aarhus in Denmark, including six months at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium.

Chi Lieu DANG

Dang Chi Lieu is a partner based in the Firm’s Hanoi office. He focuses his practice on energy, mining and infrastructure, mergers and acquisitions. Chi Lieu acts for many different clients on investing in power, energy and infrastructure projects in Vietnam by way of both greenfield development and mergers and acquisitions. He advises clients on deal structuring, due diligence, contract drafting, negotiation, and provides day-to-day advice on project operation matters. Chi Lieu has various experiences in developing legal framework on power, energy and infrastructure areas in Vietnam, including the development of the legal framework for renewable energy in Vietnam by providing technical assistance to the Government and relevant stakeholders. Mr. Dang graduated magna cum laude with an LLM from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law (2008). Prior to obtaining his LLM, he received his Bachelor of Laws from Hanoi Law University (2001) and Bachelor of Arts in English from Hanoi Foreign Studies University (2002).

Frank Phuan belongs to the second generation of a family business that has been in the solar industry for 35 years. Incorporated and co-founded by Frank in 2015, Sunseap Group is the first full-fledged solar utility company in Singapore, currently licensed under the Energy Market Authority as both an energy wholesaler and an energy retailer specializing in renewable energy. Sunseap Group is the holding company for its renewable energy subsidiaries Sunseap Leasing, Sunseap Energy, Sunseap International, Sunseap Solutions, Sunseap Engineering and Sunseap Energy Ventures. Frank has been awarded the distinguished Nanyang Outstanding Young Alumni Award 2014 and the prestigious Entrepreneur of the Year Award (EYA) 2015, and the PVSEC Special Award in 2016 in recognition of his contribution to the growth of the photovoltaic industrial technology in Singapore.
